GREENHAM COMMON PEACE CAMP 1984
COLLECTING WOOD Green Gate (March)
G.C.3
Firewood was becoming increasingly scarce - it was always damp and
avoiding smoke became an occupational hazard. The fence here was
dishevelled and the guard was perched on a makeshift watchtower of scaffolding.
Beyond the wire the landscape was rutted and messy.
